Conflict resolution and other bullshit
So the For.Profit that I work for has had issues lately with our interoffice communication skills. In other words, an office of 5 strong women are having differences of opinion and butting heads.
If this was an office of men, we would probably all go out drinking, get drunk and tell each other off. Since we are women, we instead get catty and talk about each other and bitch and moan.
And yes, I freely admit that I am party to all of it. I complain just like the rest do. And like the rest, I believe that I have some legitimate complaints that needed to be heard. So, I will also admit that I am the one that started the process that lead to our Mandatory Meeting to Resolve the Interoffice Conflict.
Our Program Manager scheduled an hour for the meeting. Told us all to carve out that amount of time in our schedule as well. The meeting lasted 5 hours instead.
Five (5) hours. And I believe that the fact that we all missed lunch is what finally ended the meeting. Hungry people do not handle conflict resolution well. Especially if the meeting is being run by two of the ‘big wigs’ in the company.
It got ugly for a while. Mainly because one of the five of us is a real backstabbing bitch not a team player. She has a very disrespectful way of speaking to the rest of us and acts very imperialistic and “holier than thou”.
Drives me crazy.
I am normally really good about not letting anyone rattle me or make me lose my temper in an unprofessional manner. But she was attacking my best friend and I lost my temper and told her off.
Then the big boss stepped.
And told her off! I am not sure who was more shocked. It was awesome.
To bad it won’t make a difference in the long run.
Sigh.
