Bur first I give you numbers 0ne thru 10
I jump around a lot here. But then again it is my world and I can do what I want.
So there. Too. Also.
As a therapist I help people work through their problem, but I haven’t been able to work through my own. So, I will be working through my own issues here. On my blog. In my world.
And I am going to start with my relationship issues.
At one point I actually had my ‘list’ all written down, in my diary. (Which I suppose I ought to find before one of my children do and use it against me.) Yes, I realize that I was a child for probably more than the first half of the list. Also this will probably take up more than a single blog.
Shock and surprise!
So, here we go, from the beginning….
1. Clint V. We were in kindergarten. He made me laugh! He loved to do “the bunny hop”. Was it really? I have no idea but it was fun! One day he came to school and said they were moving. He hugged me and left.
2. Jimmy LV. We were in second and third grade. I don’t remember much… But one day he came to school and said he was moving. And then he left.
3. Jon A. Again he made me laugh! He was a natural comedian. He was a true showman! fourth grade, fifth grade…. At the end of the year he told me that his parents were sending him to private school in another town. He left. At least we were old enough that we actually kept in touch. We wrote to each other for the next three years. He sent me a necklace that I still have. Will always have.We are actually still great friends. But more there later.
4. Duane S. I was in 7th grade, he was an 8th grader. The older man. Trumpet player. We ‘went’ together for basically the entire year. What did that mean? Looking back now, I am not really sure. We held hands a couple of times. We sat together. We wrote notes to each other. Together as part of our group, we played ‘Mud Ball’. I don’t remember why we broke up, but I think it had something to do with him pushing me to kiss him! What kind of a girl did he think I was anyway? The last day of school, he came and yep, you guessed it said goodbye. He was moving back to Colorado.
5. Mike E. I fell for him at the dance at the end of 4-H week in Corvallis OR. He introduced me to his mother, his sister and his brother that night. We danced… we talked… we walked… He walked me back to my dorm. He went to kiss me… and a bunch of girls showed up and the moment ended. We kept in touch for years and years. He only lived a couple of hours from me and we visited when we could. More about him later. Oh, and he played the trombone and sang bass, beautifully.
6. Dixie P. Freeman year. He was a senior. My parents were so disapproving! He asked me to homecoming. My parents forbid me from going. Absolutely forbid me. We broke up. Sigh. A trombone player. He joined the Navy when he graduated.
7. Russ C. Still freshman year, and off and on through out high school. He was my the first real ‘grown up’ kiss. For some odd reason my father adored him. His mother adored me. When ever Russ showed up, my dad would let me go. Where ever, when ever.
8. Billy C. He was a sophomore. We were from very different ‘circles’ of friends. I really have no idea how we hooked up. He taught me to kiss. But I wouldn’t go further than that and we went our separate ways after a few lunches spent in the ‘media room’.
9. Billy G. We were both sophomores. It was almost the entire year. I think this is where I started looking for people to save or fix. I helped him pass science. He was out off and on due to knee surgeries. He smoked. I hated that, but I really liked him. Plus he lived a block from my best friend. He moved at the end of the year. And few years later came out. Yep, gay.
10. Jerry J. Met him at camp. Music camp. We stayed up all night the final night of camp. I believe we were up for about 36 hours, playing poker, eating Twinkies, talking and ended it with a concert. We kept in touch and spent the next entire camp week together. We wrote letters and are actually still in touch today. We broke up mainly due to distance, and age. He’s a Doctor now. Yeah, stupid me!
So let see… through the first 10… 8 moved and ended the relationship. 2 were long distance romances and 1 well… no idea what that one was all about, except the kissing.
Whew. That’s 10 and now we are getting into the issues.
Have to see the next post to know what happened next!
