Gilligan’s Island

Gilligan’s Island was a complete lie!!!

This is why I think it was:

The amount of luggage that was recovered from the boat. Let’s be real; they state that none of the luggage was lost in the storm. Did you see the hole in that boat? they’re lucky they didn’t lose any passengers. That was a lot of luggage.

Maybe luggage was rarely lost in the 1960’s. Now you’re lucky all o your luggage makes it the same destination that you do. And let’s be real; if you manage to make it all the way to the airport, let alone through customs and baggage carousel you are doing better than most.

Seasick. None of them ever complained about being seasick. Not during the original storm nor any of their subsequent attempts to leave the island. Not by canoe, raft, or any other means.

I’m not buying it.

We had 10 feet swells and I thought I was going to die.

Heavy then light, lean to one side then the other, it really fucks with your equilibrium. And I am on a huge cruise ship! Plus we were off the coast of California, Oregon, Washington then Canada BC.

There was a point when even my husband, a Navy veteran, was sick.

Now that we are out in open water, halfway between Canada and Hawaii, even with the swells, I am fine. I guess it just took a couple of days to get my ‘sea-legs.’

To be honest, the sound of the boat creaking still freaks me out some, but all in all, I’m good.
