I have bunches and boxes of old family photos. The problem is that not all of them are labeled on the back, and I have no idea who they are or when they were taken. What do I do with them?
I feel guilty even thinking about throwing them away, but I have no one that I can give them to that might have even a glimmer of an idea as to who/when they are. It makes me sad to think that all of these photos are memories that someone had, and given the look and the time, they were carefully taken photos to depict a specific activity or celebration.
At this point, I know that some of them are 100 years old and others are closer to 70. Some are sepia, some black and white and the rest in color.
But still, people I don’t know and celebrations I have no clue about.
I have been carting them about for several years and several moves. This is, hopefully, my last move. I have two choices. After going through all of the boxes, pulling out everyone I can identify, and throwing out the rest. Or the other option is to pull out the ones identified and leave the rest for my kids to deal with, passing on the guilt for throwing out unknown family history. Trading my guilt for hers.
That would be the easy road. Well, for me anyway.
So, what do you think I should do? I know that I am not the only one who has this issue. Several of my friends find themselves in the same predicament.
Suggestions are welcome!
