It’s Almost Christmas Time (Was, I Got Lost)

I have a lot to be thankful for this year.

My husband and family are at the top of my list. As are several of my friends.

I am also thankful that our current medical issues are (mostly) behind us.

We have a roof over our head, food to eat, and are adequately clothed.

I am able to further my education, despite knowing that I will be in student loan hell for the rest of my life, but that was my choice. I hope the word ‘Doctor’ before my name will lend credibility when I recommend services to the people I work with.

I have good friends, some that I have known for literally decades- 5 1/2 for two of them. We laugh when people say, “we’ve been friends for almost 8, 15, 20, and even 30 years!”

Amateurs!

I have known one of them longer than her younger sister has.

Yeah, I’m old. I know.

However, it is nice to know that there is someone who knows everything about you and loves you anyway.

I read somewhere that this year was going to go the way the #1 movie did on your birthday. Mine is Doctor Zhivago, with the week before and after, The Sound of Music. Both are movies about the Second World War.

From everything that is going on in the world and our country, I fear that may be an accurate prediction for this year.

I hope that it is not.
